-=Betazed=-

The aftermath of what had not happened at what was supposed to be a spectacular Betazoid wedding was nothing short of what Vol had expected, and hoped. In short Vol had a lot of re-explaining to do, but fortunately he had Dana and his brother as supporters.

Vol being gay had never been a secret, but the hope on his father's part was that Vol would still honor his vows and stay home with his wife. Now that his father saw that that was no longer an option, it seemed there was very little to do. Vol was in love with a life-long friend, a male, and staying on Betazoid would render the Ensign unhappy and filled with regret.

His mother was more or less pleased, and his father was resistant at first to the change in plans, but all in all they all knew it was for the best. The Tryst's social standing would be willingly sacrificed if it meant happiness for the younger generation. Not that the Tryst's failing was set in stone, it was just expected.

*We will cross that bridge when we get to it.*

*Thank you.* Vol thought back to his father, as he hugged his parents goodbye, he was due to return to aboard ship.

What was more, now Vol and Orynn now had to decide how to proceed with their relationship. The problem being that Orynn was content in the fullest to remain on Betazed for the rest of his days; but was less so if it meant it was to be lived without his Imzadi.

Vol admitted he had forgotten what it was like to have Orynn in his life, but was not positive he would forget so easily this time around.

However time seemed to smile on these two, and would allow them the grace to figure out what to do on their own.

Orynn and Siter were due to host an art exhibit on Earth in a number of days, the subject matter being pure Betazoid art. Vol had asked permission from his Commanding Officer if he could have two guests aboard for the duration of this voyage, and the request was accepted...with one condition.

-=Alchemy Sickbay=-

Dr Hubbard had mixed feelings over not having attended the wedding. On the one hand, it might have been selfish for him to spend his time with Alorha as they had forged a deep bond in their short time, yet, on the other hand he felt that it might have been an experience best shared by a close crew that had just endured some hardships. To meet them in a more sterile, working environment might be beneficial to both parties.

Hubbard pondered these thoughts as he pored over his reports...the announcement of a site to site beam in coming over the intercom. He looked up puzzled, wondering what the casualty was...as the announcement was fairly sketchy by his standards. *A site to site beam-in?* he wondered, moving quickly to make sure things were ready to go in the Sickbay, which was small by Starfleet standards.

Within moments, two grav-stretchers bearing a body each appeared in the open area of the Sickbay. Hubbard ran their vitals with his tricorder and widened his eyes. Speaking aloud to himself, "Induced sleep? Betazoids?" He tried to consider the reasons for these people showing up in this state-he deduced that more information would be coming his way shortly.

He wasn't upset over not having the information prior to their arrival; he knew sometimes you had to move outside the box. *Prophets knows, I've done my share of that.*

He situated the bodies on biobeds and noted their arrival in his log.

Vol walked heavily to where he was to meet, for the first time, the Sera's new CMO. His brother and Orynn had been induced into an unconscious state, and were to be beamed aboard the Alchemy as soon as possible, so that the crew could finally get back to duty and underway on their next mission.

Vol approached the doctor, and was glad to see that the slumbering bodies of Siter and Orynn were already in his care.

"Hello, I'm Dr. Hubbard. I haven't met you...but I'm guessing you are the one who's going to explain who these people are and just why they're in my Sickbay."

"Well, which would you prefer first?" Vol responded coyly. "That I explain whom these individuals are, or that I properly introduce myself?"

Hubbard was not amused, "Let me explain. This is MY Sickbay, and no one has told me what the hell is going on here. I need to know what's going on."

Vol held himself fast, as to not smile. The comment reminded him of the first time he had met Salvek aboard the Serendipity, something to do with a 'need to know' basis.

"Very well." Vol complied. "These would be some passengers we will be taking on for a short time aboard the ship. Seeing as the Alchemy's existence is classified, we need to keep them in stasis until we are aboard the Sera."

Hubbard was livid, "Per who's orders? I'm glad you find this so damned amusing...and just who the hell are you?"

Vol was taken aback a bit, not expecting another snap from the CMO. Vol honestly didn't think he done anything to merit this kind of treatment. Under normal circumstances, Vol would've wanted to analyze what was troubling the man so, but as things were Vol thought it best to get out of here as soon as he knew that his loved ones were in the best of care.

"I am Ensign Vol Tryst, Ship's Counselor for both the Alchemy and the Serendipity." Vol said without pride, without shame, or without quivering. It was just statement, an answer to a question.

"Captain Zanh has approved the passage of these two people, in this condition. If there's anything else you need, you can find me in my quarters. Good day," Vol nodded, quick-like. "Sir."

Tryst then turned on his heel and headed exactly where he had specified.
