Zanh Liis and Vol Tryst took their leave of the small conference room, allowing Blane and Jariel to hash out the details of the supplies distribution with Lank for the moment.

Liis took Vol across the corridor into an empty lab and turned to him as soon as the door was shut.

"Impressions?" She commanded.

"Should I leave out the obvious?" Vol crossed his arms, and wiggled his eyebrows. He knew that this was a serious mission, and a serious request made by his captain, but it was difficult to remain professional when asked to give an impression upon a man who was as easy to read as any Terran rat. Zanh at least found the comment somewhat amusing, as her emotions smiled slightly, even though her lips did not.

"I know he's lying, but what about?" In response, Vol regained his composure and became serious again.

"I would imagine he is perhaps just as much a victim as anybody else on Stra II, they have become so comfortable and dependent on their machines and technology to provide them their luxuries, that to have that all gone now has rendered them little more than paralyzed. To him, getting back his way of life, at any cost, is paramount."

"And that of his people of course..." Zanh said more to herself than to Vol.

"I think not, Sir."

"Pardon me, Ensign?" The statement had caught Zanh a little off guard.

"I did a little research before arriving in orbit Captain, Lank obtained his position and political power through birth right only. Somewhat like a monarchy, with some distinct differences, but for the purpose of my point; the title of Overseer was passed down to him after his father died. I believe that what he wants, just so happens to parallel with the wants of most of his people. But I sense a selfish fear in him Captain, he is fighting for his own way-of-life back, not anybody else's."

"That is a useful bit of info." Again, the Captain thought aloud to herself. "What about when he spoke of the tunnels, and the safety of our Away Teams?"

"Something very important is in those tunnels Captain, what exactly I can't tell you." Vol reported. "Whatever it is, I'd say it has something to do with the cascade failure only because he considers keeping it a secret just as much a priority as getting everything back up and running. To the Overseer, keeping whatever it is down there a secret, might be worth a few..." Vol chose his words carefully. "...accidents."

Zanh understood the Counselor's meaning completely.
