Paxton stood on the bridge filling in when and wherever needed. When the call came in from the Captain with the need to evacuate all of the telepaths, it was he who handed Commander Blane the list of those on board that needed to be moved to the Alchemy.

Once the channel was closed with the Captain, TC turned to Paxton.

“Commander could you please see that security personnel are dispatched to round up all of those that need to leave. With our acting Security Chief over on the other ship I need you to fill in for me.”

Paxton nodded, and turned to leave the bridge.

TC called after him. “When we are sure the Alchemy is away, see if you can find the Captain’s chair.”

Paxton nodded. “Aye sir.”

-=Fifteen minutes later, Alchemy Bay=-

“That is everyone on the list Commander,” The security officer reported.

Paxton looked over the information on the PADD and nodded. “Well done Lieutenant. I want you on this ship,” Pax then turned to the other security officer. “You too. I want a security presence to help protect and keep everyone calm so Commander Lair can concentrate on what she needs. Understood?”

Both men nodded their heads, then ran up the ramp.

Pax touched his badge. “Commander Briggs to Alchemy.”

[Go ahead, Pax,] Lair’s voice returned over the comm. She had taken to using Paxton's nickname faster than most of the rest of the crew of the Sera, his temporarily adopted home.

“All of the known telepaths are on board with the exception of those who have chosen willingly to stay behind." Among those who had made that difficult decision included Dabin Reece and Ensign T'Dara, besides of course Salvek, who was still on the Zenith and Wren Elton who remained in Sickbay and was now under the care of Dr. Hartcort. "I’ve also given you two of the security staff. Use them as you need.”

[Thanks. We will be departing shortly.] There was a pause. [Take care of yourself and everyone else.]

“Will do, Commander. Smooth sailing.” Paxton closed the channel and left the hanger bay and headed for the cargo bay.

Paxton sighed at the sight of the numerous boxes and containers. Somewhere among the stack of unopened containers was the Captain’s chair. Despite the gravity of the current situation, she still needed the chair.

He was to pick up where Lair started and find the box that contained the chair. Armed with only the PADD that contained where Commander Lair had left off, he renewed the search for the missing center chair.

“Computer remove from the list any crates that have a interior space too small to hold a RC551-B command chair.”

There was a beep and the list was narrowed considerably.

“Okay, now we are making progress. Computer now remove any crates from the list that are significantly too heavy or too light to contain the aforementioned command chair.”

There was a beep and the list narrowed even further to a respectable seven crates.

“Super, display the listed contents of the remaining crates please.”

Once again a beep sounded and the information displayed on the PADD.

“Let’s see here,” Pax spoke out loud as he walked towards the stack of crates. “Tri-augmend couplers, nope, reclamation system filtration filters, nope and yuck…”

He made his way around the crates still speaking as he matched the serial number of the crates to the list on the PADD.

“…cafeteria linens, nada… Ah-ha!” He jogged around looking at the serial number until he came to the one listed on the PADD. “One custom, high back, modular, multi-species, vertical support device, otherwise know to the rest of us as a chair.”

-=Thirty minutes later=-

Paxton had just finished hooking the Captain’s chair into the ships computer system when the Captain and TC exited the ready room.

Zanh Liis paused and cracked a slight smile despite the gravity of the situation as Command Briggs spun the chair slightly towards her and dusted off the already clean seat with his hand.

"Captain, your RC551-B custom, high back, modular, multi-species, vertical support device with lumbar support system is installed and fully functional,” Paxton smiled.

"That's not really a...is it?" Liis leaned forward, looking at the leather console between her chair and Salvek's and seeing it included an empty space in the shape of a circle.

"A cup holder? Yes it is. Exactly to the specifications I requested, too." TC grinned as he walked past. “Well done Mr. Briggs.”
